Niacin, is also referred to as vitamin B3 and nicotinic acid and is one of the essential human nutrients. It is a colorless, water soluble derivative of pyridine. As a food supplement it is available over the counter but can also be found naturally in various food groups such as meat, fruit and vegetables and seeds.
