The Brilliant cresyl blue solution is used in hematology as reagent for the staining of blood for the subsequent manual counting of blood cells. The regenerative capacity of erythrocytes can be monitored with the ratio of reticulocytes. In addition, the determination of the Substantia granulo-filamentosa (ribonucleoproteins) is possible with fresh, unfixed young erythrocytes (in a supra-vitral staining).
The Brilliant cresyl blue solution is an IVD & CE product and 100 ml of the solution are capable of staining up to 5000 slides.
